Are you a business owner that struggles to find time to work on your business?
Perhaps you planned to spend a morning working on marketing but got absorbed in client work?
It’s hard to prioritise the work that takes you further in the long term, over the urgent calls.

Why does it make a difference?
I didn’t have this when I was starting out. Since then I have joined business groups and it has made a huge difference.
A. Because it means you set aside time to work on your business and are held accountable and,
B. Because you receive support, you’re not alone with business problems anymore!
"I am very motivated to help business owners. It is possible to earn well, do fulfilling work and have time for a proper life outside of providing a service! I’ve done it and I want to save you from the mistakes I made getting here!"
I have spent years working with business mentors outside of the built environment. Then I have filtered it through the lens of what actually works in our industry. All of this I teach in The Business Space. It's a 6 month container so that we make lasting changes. Dipping in and out won't change much. We will work on business problems together. By the end of the 6 months you should:
Be confidently charging more money
Have a marketing strategy that feels manageable
Have overcome what's holding you back
Be confidently managing cashflow
Have developed better systems to reduce your hours
Have created boundaries for a better work/life balance
Have worked out your niche (if relevant) and diversification options

Clare's support and guidance through this difficult period was invaluable, helping us map out the future direction of our practice. I valued her thoughtfulness and her wealth of knowledge in all aspects of running a business. Though conversations with her, we were able to focus on the clients types we wished to work with and implement strategies that improved the value we as a company could bring to those clients. I would highly recommend working with her – thank you Clare, it has been a real pleasure!”

As a self employed Architect for 8 years, there's rarely anyone to bounce business ideas off or get honest feedback from. Claire's mastermind which I was part of for over 18 months has given me exactly that: straightforward, practical insights, dedicated time to think on my business rather than just in it, and the chance to hear different viewpoints from other Architects facing similar challenges too. It's clear that Claire isn't “just" an Architect, she's an entrepreneur, and that comes through in the way she approaches the business side of things and the guidance she gives each session. It's brought a lot more clarity to my own direction and business decisions. Thank you Clare!
Emma, Self-Employed Architect
Following Clare's advice, I re-designed my proposal and raised my fees. We were up against [another practice] to compete for the new work. I bit the bullet and used Clare's [guidance] to work out the fee proposal. We won the job.
I've very much appreciated Clare's firsthand experience with running a successful practice and fully trust her advice as a result. She knows what works and what doesn't even in the changing landscape of social media and AI search results.

Clare Nash
Hello! I’m Clare Nash and I love mentoring individuals and businesses to ‘Design Your Life’ (which is also the title of one of my books).
I have always challenged the status quo
I travelled alone for 6 months (leaving my fiance), staying in cave dwellings in China, researching gold mine relocation housing in Papua New Guinea and couch surfing my way round South America so that I could carry out research on sustainable housing.
I've never subscribed to long hours culture. In the office I was known for being very efficient and going home on time. Even then, I valued life outside of architecture.
Years before Covid made working remotely 'a thing', I ran a remote working practice, with an office meeting instead of an office.
My Practice
Today, as well as mentoring, I run Clare Nash Architecture (CNA), a thriving eco-architecture and garden design practice, known for its flexible, people-first approach - where everyone works part-time, remotely and with balance in mind.
The Specialism
Back in 2014, I started blogging about my specialism in eco-design and barn conversions. Clients and peers seek me out as the expert in both of these areas.

Author
I wrote Design Your Life: An Architect’s Guide to Work/Life Balance and Contemporary Vernacular Architecture: How British Housing Can Rediscover Its Soul. I am a RIBA role model, I regularly speak at large and small events and I lecture on business at Oxford Brookes University.
My Life
When not working, I enjoy experimenting with new planting combinations in my garden or on the allotment with my son, and enjoying long countryside walks ending in a cosy pub or a rock gig with my husband.
When will the virtual meetings be held?
Once a month on a Monday lunchtime, but this can be flexible if the group prefers.
Will the group be full of my competitors?
I believe we can all learn and support each other. There's space for everyone. We're all unique and there's plenty of work to go round. Don't stress this part, it will hold you back. We are mighty together!
Does this count as CPD?
Although not formally registered, this would qualify as structured CPD under 'business, clients and services'.
Do I have to sign up for a full six months?
Yes. Six months is a good amount of time to make significant progress. Dipping in and out won't achieve much.

Where I support you to make more money, develop systems and finally get your marketing strategy together.
Where we hold you accountable to get it done!
A dedicated space where we ONLY focus on the business side.
